Ebony awoke from her deep slumber. As she looked around she didn't notice anything familar. As she slowly started to rise she instantly let her weight fall back to the ground. As she opened her eyes her silver slits beemed through the darkness and glowed like a cat's peircing yellow eyes. She sat up once agian as she reached for her head. Her head felt like it was a drum and someone was banging on it with a branch. After a few moments passed she finally got to her feet. She felt as though she had never walked in a million years. And sadly her walking displayed as much. She managed to get about ten more feet as she stubbled across a path. She tried to imagine what she did last night to make her feel this way. She must have been drunk or something, cause she felt as though she would sit down and die. Images shot through her mind of a creek as her jaw clenched. Ebony rubbed her jaw and shrugged it off as some odd image from her dreams. She paused for a moment, regained her balance and grabbed her head. She thought about the moon and pushed all thoughts that could make her appear weak in the back of her mind. Slowly her mind started to fill with a soft flow of music. A piano with an acustic guitar in the background playing a soft harmony. Her scrunched up face started to appear normal as she kept that beautiful harmony of music flowing through her mind.

Crashing noises brought Ivy out of her deep thoughts. She was was sitting at the base of a tree, a few yards off of the path, relaxing. She watched as a young woman stumbled her way down the beaten trail. Ivy watched curiously as the poor girl, who was obviously in pain, walk. Something wasn't right. She cocked her head and gently brushed the girls mind. Music? And pain. Yeah, something was most defiantly wrong.
Getting to her feet, she followed behind the girl silently. Ivy thought that the young woman was very pretty. But the poor thing seemed very confused and some pain. The Motherly side of Ivy came out and she decided to see what was up.
"Excuse me." Ivy called out loud enough to be heard, but not strong enough to startle the girl. "Do you need some help?" she asked. Poor thing looked rather confused, Ivy couldn't help but want to help her out.

Ebony stood stone cold in her path. Her breath slowed as she heard the follower approach. "Excuse me."The follower said in a rather delightful tone. "Do you need some help?" she asked. The music in Ebony's mind began to slowly fade out as another image ran through her mind. She clenched her jaw as she slammed into the old broken trail. At that moment her eyes closed and started to see a movie play out. Two girls walking to a creek, one of the girls vanished into the muted darkness. As the other figure crashed into the pavement just as she just did. Her mind clashed with the movie as she remained frozen in place. After a few moments she began to regain control. As if the movie and image never happened, Ebony stood, regained her footing and replied. "I am fine, just a minor hangover." Her mind racing as she made the music come back into view. The music had changed though. The soothing sound of the piano and the acoustic guitar was erased as a quick paced beat replaced the harmony. She turned to face the follower. She saw the beauty that beheld the woman. Ebony cupid arrows made a smile as her small dimples began to embrace her kindness. "Sorry. I just had a moment of weakness, but I am fine now. Thanks though." She red lips glossed with a shimmer that made them look almost wet in a way. Still unable to see any other feature besides her silver eyes and red lips that peered out from under the hood of her cloak.

When the girl fell again, Ivy was to her in an instant. Hangover my ass, Ivy thought looking at her. No, there was most assuredly something going on here, but Ivy didn't push it. If she didn't want her help, then she didn't want it. But Ivy kept right beside her, just in case.
The woman's words "I just had a moment of weakness" puzzled Ivy. "Falling is not a weakness." Ivy said cocking her head to the side. "It is just one of those things that happen." She held out her hand and smiled brightly up at the woman. "My name is Ivy. I will walk with you until we are back on the main path. This really isn't a safe place to be after dark." She told her.

Ebony amazed at the woman's kindness. Smiled once more this time showing her white teeth. Not one tooth pointed too long. "I would be very grateful if you would walk with me." The woman had a very peaceful presence and was very delight to be around. Curious about why Ivy was so easy to talk to Ebony couldn't stop the words from flowing through her lips. "It's not really a hangover. I just don't remember much at all before this place. I keep seeing these images that don't make any sense." Surprised that her secret was out in the first few minutes of knowing Ivy. Slightly horrified that she woke up in this eerie place. Calming herself down she started to walk again with the woman. After awhile she remembered something that terrified her. She remembered that she was the figure who fell, but couldn't figure out who the other girl was. The sound of her own breath sent a rush of serenity to her heart. I need to calm down. I shouldn't tell her anymore. I don't remember anything at all. What was I doing here? Who am I? The voice inside her mind started to decease as she listened to the wind rumble through the trees and the sweet scent of rain about to fall captured with the breeze. Ebony's thoughts finally stopped thinking about her predicament and focused on her surroundings.

"You don't remember anything?" Ivy asked. "Did you hit your head?" she looked closer at her, trying to see if there were any visible injuries. She didn't see any, but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt. Then the woman's thoughts rushed into Ivy's mind. The poor girl had no clue where she was, who she was or what had happened to her.
"I have an idea." Ivy spoke up. "Let's go get some coffee or something." She smiled up at her. "Maybe it will help you feel a little better." They were at the main trail and Ivy turned and looked back up at her. "My car is just over there. And a nice coffee shop is just down the road. Come on, it will relax you."

"You don't remember anything? Did you hit your head?" Ivy asked. Ebony tried to remember anything before this and came up with a blank. "Not much. I might have hit my head. It's all a blur." Ebony ran through her mind searching for anything to jog her thoughts. Tastes, sounds, textures, emotions. Nothing. As they walked she watched the ground. Her boots being engulfed into her cloak and then reappearing. Slowly the path got wider she guessed it was the main path. "I have an idea." Ivy spoke up. "Let's go get some coffee or something." Ivy's smile was contagious. Every time her smile formed Ebony couldn't help but to smile back. "Maybe it will help you feel a little better. My car is just over there. And a nice coffee shop is just down the road. Come on, it will relax you." Ivy said looking at her. Should I stay or should I go? Hm... Well if I stay I will never know and I will still feel like dying. And if I go I might make a new friend and maybe she can help jog my memory. "I would love to go. Coffee sounds great, but I don't remember if I like it." She giggled to herself and when she did her hood lost it's balance. Her hands quickly went to grab it before it showed her face, but failed. Her dark eyebrows made her icy blue eyes stand out even more and looked almost white. Her high cheekbones showed as her smile still remained. The markings on her forehead now showing for Ivy to see and Ebony's long flowing brown mane was in tangles. Shock ran through her for a few moments, then she quickly pulled her hood up again. Embarrassed for her display of marking, she stared at the ground once more until they came to her car. "Nice car," Ebony whispered.

Ivy got a good look at the woman when her hood fell off, and revealed her face completely. She was a beauty. But...the marks on her forehead, they were, well beautiful. Ivy had never seen someone with tattoos on their face. Those and her dark hair made her pale eyes practically glow.
"Oh, thank you." Ivy replied when she commented on the car. Once inside and they were on their way, Ivy glanced at the girl. "You are very beautiful. And that tattoo on your forehead is very unique and beautiful too."
When they got to the coffee shop and got out of the car, Ivy turned to her. "What should I call you?" she asked cocking her head and looking up at the girl. "I can't go around just saying - Hey you." she giggled.

When Ivy mentioned her marks Ebony stiffened. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She didn't remember much about before she died, but she did remember those. A shiver ran through her as she remembered how she got them. A brief picture of a demon ran through her mind. She was little she must have been seeing things. I am human and so is everyone else. I am not crazy. So I know I must have been seeing things. She turned to look at Ivy, when they got to the coffee place. "What should I call you? I can't go around saying - Hey you." Ivy giggled a sweet sound in Ebony's ears. "My name is...," Her mind searched for an answer. She thought long and hard about it before she came across a memory of her mother. She was remarkably beautiful, reddish brown hair always curled and her silky pink dress that always smelt of roses. She recalled putting her arms around her saying goodbye and an I love you. Her mother's voice sweet sounding and very similar to Ivy's. Her mother said "I love you and wish you luck, My lovely Ebony." Ebony's smile grew as she grabbed the edges of her hood and pulled it done. "My name is Ebony." Her cheeks still blushed red and her eyes were damp as she wiped a tear from her eye.

Ivy watched as the beautiful woman dug deep in her mind to figure out her name. Poor thing, Ivy felt so sorry for her. Amnesia was such a terrible and tricky thing. Again, she wondered what had happened to her back in the woods to cause this.
Ebony
What a beautiful and exotic name. And even though her skin was as pale as Ivy’s, somehow the name fit. Everything about the woman was beautiful and exotic, so why not have a beautiful and exotic name. “Well it is wonderful to meet you Ebony.” Ivy smiled as Ebony pulled back her hood. Ivy was able to get a good look now at the woman and all her thoughts about her just increased. A true beauty indeed. Ivy patted her hand when she saw her tears. “Don’t cry Ebony, I will help you all I can. We will find out what happened to you and everything else important. “
Ivy waved the waitress over and ordered a hot cocoa for herself, then let Ebony order. Sitting back in her chair, Ivy smiled brightly. “Is there anything you want to ask me? Anything you want to know about me?”

Ebony's smile brightened as she finally started to remember things. It didn't take a long time. She must have just closed her eyes for a few seconds. She remembered seeing creatures that were unexplainable. As she took a few seconds to herself Ivy talked. “Well it is wonderful to meet you Ebony.” Ivy smiled as I took my hood off. She reminded me of everything I thought a mother should be. Ivy was gentle, encouraging but she never pushed. I love that. I wonder if my mom was like her. “Don’t cry Ebony, I will help you all I can. We will find out what happened to you and everything else important. “ I couldn't help but smile. "I'm not sad, I am just happy to remember something. I know very little so I feel lost, but at least I remember my name." Ebony chuckled as she thought of how lame she sounded, but she chuckled even louder when she realized she didn't care. Her spirit began to loosen up as the waitress came by. She asked for warm milk and continued to focus on Ivy. “Is there anything you want to ask me? Anything you want to know about me?” Ebony's eyes beamed with curiosity. Finally something I know how to do. "Where did you come from? Why are you so nice and why do you want to help me?" Ebony slowly whispered under her breathe "Are they any other kind of species, besides human?" She didn't say it loud enough to be heard, she just wanted to know if she could say it.

Ivy smiled at Ebony's words. She was glad that Ebony was feeling happier and more relaxed now. When she asked her questions of Ivy, she was a little shocked by the last one. Many people had asked her why she was helping them or being nice to them, but most didn't come right out and ask if there were other species. Ivy knew Ebony didn't have a clue as to what she was, but was still curious why she was asking.
"Where did I come from?" Ivy grinned. "Well, I am almost always wandering around the forest at night. I love exploring in the dark. Why am I being so nice? Well, I can't stand to see people in distress. I have to help out anyone I see who is lost, scared, hungry and so on. It is just my nature to help people." She grinned and leaned across the table, closer to Ebony. "And as far as are there other species besides humans, I would have to say yes. Many different kinds. Why do you ask?"

As Ivy answered her questions one by one Ebony's smile increased, but when she answered her last question her smile disappeared. Ebony felt a chill run through her body. How did she hear me? For a moment Ebony felt light headed and slowly drifted for awhile in her memories. A man she had never seen before became a demon with horns and a bit of a redness. She wondered if maybe Ivy knew of them too. Ebony tried to get back on track. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, have you ever came in contact with another species? Why do you think they are real? Do you think they will hurt us?" As she quickly asked more questions she remember that Ivy wanted to know why she asked. "Um, when I was little I think I saw another species, but then agian I was very little. I always thought I was just crazy, until..." She paused feeling the pain of the scorching hot metal agianst her pale skin. "Until I got my markings." She stopped waiting to see Ivy's face. After she mentioned her marking's most people ran away. Everyone around her made her feel like an insane person who escaped from an assylum. Her cheeks began to burn just waiting for her reaction.
